Bryan Municipal Utilities – BMU Internet Service Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my BMU Internet Service ending?

After a lengthy analysis and review of declining revenues, customer subscriptions, and the substantial capital investment required to replace obsolete equipment, it became apparent that BMU’s internet service can no longer be competitive. Discontinuing BMU internet service was the most logical and fiscally responsible approach for the City of Bryan, our residents, and businesses. We have been proud to service our community for the past twenty-four years but, the challenge of competing and providing an appropriately priced service has proven too large to overcome.

When will my BMU internet service end?

This service will expire on December 9, 2024, at the end of our business day at 4:00 pm. We encourage our customers to find an alternate ISP (Internet Service Provider) at their earliest convenience.

How do I cancel my subscription to BMU Internet?

You may call 419-633-6100. Please do not select any options when prompted and a member of our staff will answer your call and complete your request.

If I rent a modem or wireless modem router from BMU, do I need to return it?

No, you do not need to return any equipment.
