Bryan Municipal Utilities Announces New Director of Utilities
Bryan, OH – Bryan Municipal Utilities is proud to announce Derek Schultz as the new Director of Utilities, effective April 1, 2023. Derek will be replacing the current Director of Utilities, Nathan Gardner, who is retiring on March 31, 2023.
With twenty-two years of experience in public utilities and a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering Technology, Derek brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the role. Derek has been with Bryan Municipal Utilities for eleven years, working his way from water treatment plant operator to water treatment plant supervisor to water superintendent to his current title of Operations Manager. This experience has given him a unique perspective and a deep understanding of the workings of the organization and the City of Bryan.
Derek has a proven track record of leadership and a deep commitment to delivering high-quality utility services to the Bryan community. He is well-equipped to lead Bryan Municipal Utilities into the future, ensuring that the organization continues to provide reliable and affordable utilities to the residents of Bryan.

Derek currently resides in Stryker, OH with his wife and three children. He is excited to start this new opportunity and looks forward to continuing to work with the team at Bryan Municipal Utilities as they continue to provide excellent utilities services to the community.
