Meter Replacement Information

Q. When will the meter replacement program take place?

A. Meter installation will begin in April of 2022 and will continue into 2023.

Q. Will I get a new water and electric meter?

A. Yes, but not at the same time. Your electric meter will be installed first, and your water meter installed at a later date.

Q. Will I have to pay for the new meters?

A. No, there is no cost to you for the meter replacement.

Q. What about my electric and water bill?

A. You will receive your electric and water bill just like before. You may notice two different meter readings one from the old meter and one from the new meter. These combine to your normal monthly bill.

Q. What to expect when my electric meter is changed?

A. The installation will only take a few minutes. You will experience a brief interruption in electric service. You may need to reset your clocks and other electronic devices.

Q. What if I can’t have my electric service interrupted?

A. If you have a medical condition that requires uninterrupted electric service, please contact our office at 419-633-6100.

Q. What to expect when my water meter is changed?

A. Your water service could be interrupted for fifteen (15) to thirty (30) minutes while the old meter is removed, and new meter installed. Your water service will be restored after installation. If accessible, your water line will be flushed to remove air.

Q. How do I know if my meter has been replaced?

A. A door hanger will be hung after the installation to indicate whether the electric or water meter was replaced.

That door hanger will look like the image below.
